Fijians around the country have been urged to take part and contribute to the Poppy appeal.

The Poppy appeal is a fundraising campaign held every year to assist our ex-service men.

While launching the appeal yesterday, Acting Minister for Defence Jone Usamate says the poppy symbolizes the priceless sacrifice made by our forefathers who gave their lives for our country.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, in launching this poppy appeal, I invite everyone in this country to take part in this worthy cause to remember the fallen that have done and given their lives for our nation.”

Usamate says Fijians should always honour those that are still with us and also give them the recognition they deserve.
