FCCC to continue investigations on traders

June 9, 2018 7:05 pm

The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission will continue their investigation on traders even after the Homes and Farm care initiative ends on the 31st of next month.

Chief Executive, Joel Abraham says the second round of investigation operations will begin next week in the Western Division.

“The second round of investigations is basically to do with price hikes. There has been complaints just out of Tavua, just a while ago that there’s this particular furniture shop that is putting up prices so when compare to last week. That’s still in further investigations because we need to check whether that is correct or not.”

Abraham says they are not taking people to court for the sake of it as justice needs to prevail.

The FCCC is adamant that those taking advantage of the initiative will be caught sooner or later.

Meanwhile, four traders have been charged by FCCC and will appear in court soon.
