A Chinese government donation which was received by the Speaker Dr Jiko Luveni last Friday will assist the Fijian Parliament in the new session of Parliament.
Chinese Ambassador to Fiji, Qian Bo presented the donation to the Speaker.
Dr Luveni says through China’s generosity, they will be able to enhance their capabilities and support to Members of Parliament so that they are able to undertake their legislative, oversight and representative mandates, through development of efficient processes and working methods ensuring that the SDGs and development issues, including gender, are mainstreamed in Parliament’s work.
Dr. Luveni adds that China has always been a great friend to Fiji and this donation reflects the profound friendship and the strategic partnership of mutual respect and common development between the two countries.
