Dismantling the old Rewa Bridge will cost the Fiji Roads Authority millions of dollars.

Moore has clarified the safety of the public is paramount and they have completely closed off the bridge.

He says demolishing the bridge will be costly.

Nausori Town Council acting chief executive Deo Narayan, says the onus is on FRA to take immediate action and avoid any casuality.

“Since certain parts of the concrete are falling down in the river and looking at the risk level and to avoid any challenge rising, the council has raised its concern to FRA on the state of the bridge and the concerns that are coming”

The FRA says they have other priority projects to work on at this stage and the old Rewa Bridge is not on that list.
