A crew member of the inter-island vessel Spirit of Love is admitted at the Labasa Hospital with serious injuries sustained at the Nabouwalu Jetty on Wednesday.

FBC News understands the 22 year-old’s leg got caught in the ships rope while helping maneuver the ship to berth at the jetty.

Police say he sustained very serious injuries to both legs as a result.

He was initially admitted at the Nabouwalu Hospital but has been transferred to the Labasa Hospital.

Police are still investigating the circumstances that led to the incident.

FBC News also understands that the Ministry of Labour is also conducting its own investigation.
