Cleaning of burnt MH Nabua starts

Work on the clearing of debris outside the burnt MH Supermarket in Nabua, outside Suva has started.

Construction Equipment Hire Ltd has been hired to clear the debris.

Director Pillay Gapal says one of the main reasons the cleanup is taking long is because of the unstable building structure.

It was unsafe to go in to begin with and we had to put in a lot of props inside for the safety of the people to go in and work.

Capal says they hope to get all the burnt debris removed from the premises by tomorrow.

Representatives from the Suva City Council, Ministry of Health, Insurance companies and brokers, Carpenters as well as the owner of did a site inspection this morning.

The supermarket was destroyed in a fire two weeks ago.
