The driver of a ten wheeler truck is in police custody following the death of a 33-year-old man last night.

The victim a labourer from Naleba in Labasa was walking along the Labasa/Wainikoro road last night when he was allegedly hit by the truck driven by the 43-year old suspect.

The victim was rushed to the Labasa Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

An investigation into the incident continues.

The road death toll currently stands at 25 compared to 28 for the same period last year.
