2955 jobs created through 185 foreign investment

More than two thousand nine-hundred jobs have been created with an implementation of 185 foreign investment projects at around $738 million between August last year and July this year.

Investment Fiji, Chief Executive, Godo Muller-Teut, says this is an increase of 16% in projects implemented and 38% in investment value when compared to the same period last year.

He adds that 79 projects re-invested in Fiji which is an increase of 11 projects when compared to 2016 and 2017.

Muller-Teut says in terms of local investments, a total of 69 projects were implemented at an intervention value of $132 million and directly generating 1,364 employments for Fijians.

He says Investment Fiji is actively developing relationships across the local community by connecting entrepreneurs, investors, exporters, government officials, financial professionals, business groups and others to work together.
