The Fiji Cancer Society has expressed its heartfelt gratitude to Telecom Fiji Limited (TFL) after the company presented a $15,000 cheque during the Pinktober Morning Tea held at the Labasa Exchange.
Fiji Cancer Society CEO Belinda Chan said the organisation is deeply thankful for Telecom Fiji’s continued commitment to the fight against cancer.
“Our outreach team has journeyed across Fiji covering over 200,000 kilometers, conducting more than 281 cancer awareness sessions and screenings. When organisations like Telecom Fiji stand with us, we stand stronger, reach further, and save lives,” Chan said.
Over the past four years, the Fiji Cancer Society has spent over $675,000 directly on patient support services — assisting with transportation for treatment, medication costs, diapers, and emotional and practical support for families.
Chan added that $259,674 has also been invested in diagnostic tests, oncology unit chemotherapy drugs, and supporting the weekly surgical backlog at CWM Hospital.
During the event, cancer survivor Sereima Lalibuli shared her inspiring story and urged everyone to prioritise early detection.
