A renowned Fiji 7’s player who allegedly raped a woman over the weekend has been remanded in custody by the Sigatoka Magistrates Court.

26-year-old, Amenoni Nasilasila is charged with one count of rape.

It is alleged that he raped a 24-year-old woman in Sigatoka on Saturday.

Nasilasila surrendered himself at the Sigatoka Police Station on the day of the alleged incident.

He has applied for bail and the court will make a ruling next Monday.

The matter has been adjourned to December 31st.
