Fiji Airways Fiji 7s coach Gareth Baber has promised that the team will perform to the best of their ability at the Hamilton 7s this weekend.

The national coach says the stakes are higher in Hamilton as there will be no quarterfinals meaning Fiji will need to win all their pool matches to make the semifinals.

“It’s just the same for every team. It’s not how I want to go through the tournament, I must admit it’s not how I see the sevens series tournaments. I am just disappointed in this but it’s the same for everybody else. So in respect to that, we have got to go through the three games and then win two games in the semifinal and final in the tournament. That’s what we have done previously here. So very much that becomes our focus.”

Fiji will take on Samoa in their first match of the Hamilton 7s tournament this Saturday at 12.47pm.

Fiji will then face Australia at 6.35pm on the same day and will take on Argentina at 11.57am on Sunday in their final pool match.
