Just three months on the international 7s scene and utility player, Waisea Nayacalevu is already being eyed for 15s rugby.

Flying Fijians coach Inoke Male has indicated he will be contacting the Uprising rugby club star to consider attending trials for the Pacific Nations Cup.

“Nayacalevu is a gifted player. He has the build, speed and everything that we need from a player to play in the backs. He may need a little bit of touch up’s on his skills but he will be very good. We have been keeping an eye on him since he started playing 7s and will continue to see how he goes from there.”

Nayacalevu debuted for Fiji in Wellington and has since scored 15 tries in just four IRB tournaments.

He will be joining the 16-member Fiji 7s squad that marches into camp on Tuesday for the next three days at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua.

The next leg of the series is the Glasgow 7s that will be held May 5-6.

Fiji is pooled with Zimbabwe, Portugal and Argentina.
