The Water Authority will be deploying more water carting trucks to affected communities around the country if the long dry spell continues.

WAF Board Director, Kamal Goundar says they’ve deployed 50 more trucks to the Western division while 35 have been deployed to the Northern side.

He says these trucks are mostly carting clean water to the villages affected.

” This should be a sufficient number for now unless more sources dry up in rural areas where people will be requesting the authority to cart water to those areas, so as and when need arises, we will be increasing the numbers also.”

Goundar says the authority is also working with Commissioners from different divisions to supply water to the outer islands.

The Authority says that water has been carted to the Yasawa’s and Malolo Island.
