The government has reiterated plans to construct a new dam in Sabeto Nadi to complement the Vaturu dam in light of the rapid growth of Nadi and Lautoka.
Minister for Infrastructure Hon. Parveen Kumar says Government recognises the pace of growth in the two western hubs and will ensure that infrastructure developments are in place to cater for the rising demand of water.
Kumar highlighted this during a visit to the Nagado Water treatment plant and the Vaturu dam in the highlands of Nadi to see first-hand the current structure and the new developments that have been proposed by the Water Authority of Fiji.
The new dam is expected to support new developments such as the Momi Bay Project, Pullman Resort in Wailoaloa Bay, the Fiji – China City in Lomolomo, the industrial sub – division in Legalega (Nadi) and the various residential lots.
