Inmates assist in clean-up

Around one hundred and fifty inmates have been deployed to the western division to assist in the clean-up of Nadi town and Lautoka city.

Spokesperson for Fiji Correction Services western division Semesa Uluiviti says fifty inmates from Natabau Prison, fifty from Ba Correction Center and forty from Suva Corrections Center have been deployed.

“Find instrumental in terms of rehabilitation work of respective towns especially in Nadi and Lautoka and this morning they have been deployed to two towns to clear fallen trees and other debris brought in by Cyclone Evan during the last two days.”

Semesa says this will help speed up the cleaning of the two major towns.
