July 26, 2019 7:08 am

The Legal Practitioners Unit has confirmed receiving a complaint against Tobia Ravuniwa from the Suva High Court Criminal Registry.

The matter came to light after Ravuniwa failed to represent his client Waisake Tulavu who is charged with allegedly raping three of his church members.

It was revealed that none of the signatures on the disclosures provided by Ravuniwa in court were signed by MIQ lawyers.

Ravuniwa has represented Nasinu pastor Waisake Tulavu on numerous occasions claiming to be a member of MIQ lawyers.

The law firm while not confirming if Ravuniwa worked for them, yesterday only stated that the signatures on the disclosures submitted to court did not belong to them.

The Judge has ordered the Legal Practitioners Unit to inform the court today whether all papers filed by Ravuniwa are valid.

The LPU representative informed the court that Tobia Ravuniwa’s practicing license expired in February 2017.
