Alleged murderer ordered to get legal counsel

A 43-year-old Chinese national charged with alleged murder has been ordered to sort out his legal counsel before the next court sitting.

The counsel for Wang Qi Yong withdrew from the case, telling the court the translator had advised him he could no longer assist in translating for the accused.

The accused is charged with the alleged murder of a 33-year-old woman at the victim’s home in Namadi Heights, Suva.

The woman was found dead in her room by her flat-mate on May 13th.

Wang Qi Yong managed to inform the court that he wanted to get assistance from Legal Aid.

The matter has been adjourned to the 13th of September.
