FNPF notes less females in Share of Wealth

The Fiji National Provident Fund’s annual report shows only 35% of females’ have share of wealth, despite having 41% contributing members.

However, females ranked higher than males as voluntary members which stood at 55 percent.

FNPF Chief Executive, Viliame Vodonaivalu says it is interesting to know the share of wealth percentages by gender which has improved over the years.

“What is interesting to note is the share of wealth by gender, female makes up 43% of the total members, and their share of wealth is only 35%. Male makes up 57% of membership but their share of wealth is 65%. While we have seen the improvement over the years, the number reflects the trend that less women are employed in formal employment and formal sector when compared to men.”

FNPF advises its members to promptly seek assistance from designated help centres for any inquiries concerning registration with the fund.
