Police set up two additional checkpoints in central division

Police have established two more checkpoints to monitor maritime movement along the Rewa River.

Police have established two more checkpoints to monitor maritime movement along the Rewa River.

Police Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho says these checkpoints are in Navuso in Naitasiri and Lokia in Rewa.

Qiliho says this follows the illegal movement of people within the area.

“We quickly established checkpoints in that areas as well to contain movement in that area.”

 Qiliho says it’s crucial for every Fijian to be honest and to be responsible by staying at home to help contain COVID-19.

He says they will continue to arrest those that do not adhere to measures and directives put in place by the government.
