Police boxing coach Viliame Vutikalulu did not mince his words when he declared that the Police team will defend their overall title once the dust settles at the Nasova Academy today, the final day of the three day Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl boxing competition.

Vutikalulu has called on supporters of the Fiji Police Force to turn up in numbers and witness what he promises will be a gripping day of boxing against their Army brothers.

He says one of the key messages he has drilled into his squad heading into this highly anticipated showdown is the reminder to always respect their brothers in the Army and to fight hard while fighting with honour.

“To all the Police supporters, do come out in numbers today at 2pm, come and support your boxers who will be representing the Police. I promise you we will win today, do come and witness the showdown.”

The coach says four Fiji reps are part of their squad, and being involved in the weeklong event gives them more exposure in the ring while also helping those in their first year of boxing.

Meanwhile, Sukuna Bowl continues into day three today with netball, volleyball and rugby league while boxing wraps up.

The men’s soccer tomorrow and men’s and women’s rugby on Friday will be held at Subrail Park in Labasa and will air LIVE on FBC Sports.
