A boxing competition has been put together as part of efforts to revive boxing in the northern division.

The King of the Ring North will be held in Seaqaqa this Saturday and it’s anticipated to be an exciting event.

Fiji Amateur Boxing Association Northern Representative Nat Ledua says it’s been a decade now since the last boxing competition was held in Vanua Levu.

And, he adds, there is huge potential in the North and competitions like this will expose these talents. The competition will be for all weight classes.

“We’ll do the weighing in on Saturday morning. We’ll try to put all the 12 categories, from Bantamweight to heavyweight. It will take 12 bouts.”

The winners from the competition will qualify for the Fiji Golden Gloves.
