Avoid use of ear piece or headphones while on the road: LTA

The Land Transport Authority is warning pedestrians and cyclists not to use ear piece or headphones while on the road.

This advisory follows a road accident recently involving a bus and a cyclist.

Chief Executive Samuel Simpson says a person becomes unaware and unresponsive of the ever present dangers when using these device which could lead to accidents.

Simpson adds LTA is also monitoring this issue on the road and if anyone is caught using ear pieces while crossing the road or on bicycle with ear pieces, they will be dealt with by LTA and Police.
