Minister for Women Mereseini Vuniwaqa

After a successful campaign at the Oceania 7s the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side with the Minister for Women Mereseini Vuniwaqa were today hosted to a morning tea at the French Ambassador’s residence.

Vuniwaqa reminded players they are an inspiration for most women and girls around the country.

The Minister for Women thanked the team for successfully qualifying for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics at the Oceania 7s.

“I am very proud, as Minister of women that Fiji can call on you as wonderful ambassadors for young women and girls today and I hope that with your support, we can seize this opportunity to grow women and girls sport in communities across the length and breadth of our island nations. 

Vuniwaqa adds the Fijiana is shaping Fiji’s future for gender equality in sport.

The Fijiana 7s is now preparing for the Dubai 7s which begins at the end of this month.
