Army fires warning shot ahead of Sukuna Bowl clash

The RFMF rugby team does not want a repeat of history when taking on the Police in their Ratu Sukuna Bowl clash today.

Former Flying Fijians fly-half and Army Manager, Major Elia Rokowailoa says the team is confident the prestigious Tanoa will return to Queen Elizabeth Barracks.

The Army camp is full of confidence after their captains run yesterday and Rokowailoa knows what the prized Tanoa means to the team.

“We are already expecting the Sukuna Bowl to be taken up to QEB. That’s what we are going to do, we are taking back the Sukuna Bowl which belongs to the army. Rest assured to our army families, friends and our comrades overseas, history will not be repeated this year.”

Army, led by Sireli Ledua has a strong side to face the defending champions from Nasova.

Prominent names in the lineup include Vesi Rarawa, Peni Naulago, John Stewart and Manoa Tamaya.

There was a media blackout for the Police Captains run yesterday.

Police have the likes of Eremasi Radrodro, Emosi Vucago, Joeli Lutumailagi and Apisalome Waqatabu in their starting lineup.

Army plays Police at 2pm today at the ANZ stadium in Suva.
