Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka today launched a $50 million water bottling plant in Naseyani, Ra—a major boost for rural development and Fiji’s export economy.
Led by the Unit Trust of Fiji, the project is being hailed as a game-changer that combines economic growth with landowner partnerships and sustainability.
Once complete, the Naseyani facility will be one of the most advanced in the country, capable of producing 36,000 bottles per hour for high-value export markets.
Construction is expected to ramp up over the next nine months, with commissioning scheduled for January next year.
“This is more than just an industrial expansion-it is an investment in our people, our land, and our future.”
Rabuka says the project reflects a new model of development, working closely with the landowning units to ensure benefits are shared.
He adds that as we grow globally, the benefits must remain with our communities.
Fiji Wai PTE Limited chair Lavinia Kaumaitotoya highlights that the project is expected to bring about developments, financial empowerment, and employment for its youth.
“This stands as a testament to what can be achieved when government, landowners and technical experts unite.”
The Prime Minister says Fiji is gaining international attention, with regional leaders reaching out as the country strengthens its leadership role.
