Carpenters Fiji Limited has been fined $20,000 by the Nasinu Magistrate’s Court for two counts of failure to display prices on certain price-controlled items and non-controlled items.

The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission charged the company after an inspection.

FCCC Acting-Chief Executive, Senikavika Jiuta says the Commission had sent two officers to Max Value Supermarket at Daniva Road in Valelevu on 2nd March for a routine inspection.

Officers found breaches of the FCCC 2010 Act.

This is the third incident this year where Carpenters Fiji Limited has been slapped with a hefty fine.

On 27th September, the company was fined $20,000 for false and misleading representation and on 14th October it was fined $15,000 for overcharging on price-controlled items and failure to mark on price-controlled items.
