The President Major General Retired Jioji Konrote's visit to the Golden Age Home in Labasa

Christmas came early for the residents of Golden Age Home in Labasa.

The President Major General Retired Jioji Konrote visited them today with Christmas goodies.

This is the first time the Head of State is visiting the home, as part of his yearly visit to orphanages and Old People’s Homes before Christmas.

Konrote wished the 30 residents well as the world heads into Christmas, adding the elderly citizens of our country must not be forgotten.

The President has the opportunity to meet the residents individually, many of whom have been living in the Home for decades.

An emotional resident Peter Sinclair was teary when he shook hands with the President.

He told FBC News they are honored to be remembered and visited by the President.
