Home is the first place where LGBTQI’s experience discrimination and violence.

Rainbow Foundation Executive Director Isikeli Vulavou says home is a social safety net for individuals but unfortunately for LGBTQI’s this is not the case.

Vulavou says LGBTQI’s faces a collection of unique barriers and inequalities that prevents a healthy and rewarding life.

“We know that most families where they have members who are LGBTQI usually do not know how to handle them and how to accept them because there is no manual on how to be accepting towards people who are different within your families.”

Meanwhile the foundation is urging parents and guardians to accept their children as they are.
