Hygiene kits to assist communities affected by cyclones

May 11, 2018 10:02 pm

The Health and Medical Services Ministry yesterday received 1000 wash hygiene kits from the Australian High Commission.

The hygiene kits will help strengthen the Ministry’s work in rehabilitating those affected by the recent flooding and to ensure good health in all communities.

Minister, Rosy Akbar, says this will assist them in combating post-disaster diseases.

Akbar says the people should also be mindful of personal hygiene and everyone should take responsibility of their health.

Akbar highlighted the kits will first be distributed to areas affected by Tropical Cyclone Josie and Keni earlier this year.

Some selected communities include those in Rakiraki, Ba, Nadi and Kadavu.
