The Fiji National Provident Fund will increase its allocation to the Educational Assistance Facility.
FNPF Manager Member Services, Alipate Waqairawai says the amendment was a proposal mooted by the members themselves – given the increased cost of higher education.
“Some parents and guardians have suggested to look at the cost of the textbooks, which is quiet high now and we have listened to them and now we have reviewed that. Now we have increased the text books allowance from $200 to $400.”

Waqairawai also says this will be effective from next year and will depend on the member’s eligibility.
