PM congratulates Fiji 7s team

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has congratulated the Fiji 7’s team saying this is a wonderful moment in the history of our nation.

Bainimarama says Fiji has won its first Gold Medal at a summer Olympic Games and every Fijian is rejoicing at home and around the world.

The Prime Minister who is with the team in Rio Brazil has conveyed the warmest congratulations to our World Champion Rugby Sevens team on the magnificent achievement.

He adds that all of Fiji has witnessed how much effort the players put into this campaign.

Bainimarama has offered special thanks to coach Ben Ryan and team captain Osea Kolinisau for their inspiring leadership.

He says it’s been a great privilege for him as Prime Minister to be present in Rio De Janeiro on behalf of the Fijian people to provide our collective encouragement and support.

He has witnessed firsthand the commitment and discipline that has produced this victory and has been deeply impressed and proud.

The Prime Minister in his message confirms a wonderful reception awaits our boys when they arrive in Fiji.

Never before has the Fijian spirit soared so high as it does today. Never have we stood so tall as a nation.

Bainimarama has called on Fiji to re-dedicate itself to the task of building our beloved nation. One nation, one people, playing an even greater role in the region and the world.
