Labasa to cope without Waqa

August 1, 2015 12:56 am

The Labasa football side will look past the absence of skipper, Taniela Waqa in their clash against Rewa in the INKK Mobile Battle of the Giants tournament at Ratu Cakobau Park.

The Babasiga Lions defeated Nadroga 2-0 in their opening match yesterday but lost Waqa after the rugged defender received two yellow cards.

Coach Bal Sanju Reddy says although it is a huge blow, the side has enough depth to cover for Waqa.

“We know it will be a big vacuum that will be left without Taniela Waqa but we believe we have capable players who will be given the opportunity to come and do the job.”

Hosts, Rewa will be looking to bag a win after recording a 2-all draw against Ba last night.

The Labasa-Rewa match will kick-off at 7pm.

In other games, Ba will take on Nadroga at this hour followed by the clash between Tailevu Naitasiri and Suva at 3pm.

Nadi will then battle Lautoka at 5pm.
