The Fiji Independent Commission against Corruption says it does not have any updates on an investigation into the Fiji Corrections Services.

FICAC spokesperson Nandni Vandhana confirmed this to FBC News today.

Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum told the Parliament sitting in May that FICAC is investigating the Fiji Corrections Services.

Sayed-Khaiyum was responding to a question from Opposition MP, Sela Nanovo about who owns the supermarkets in the major corrections Centres in Suva, Labasa and Lautoka.

Commissioner of Prisons, Colonel Ifereimi Vasu could not be reached for a comment as he is in the North.

Vasu had earlier said the supermarkets are owned by the Officer’s Welfare Scheme.
