Fiji’s failure to stop maul driven tries in the 39-21 loss to Australia has seen the coaching staff put in extra effort in this area in training this week.

With the Wallabies game done and dusted in the Rugby World Cup, the Flying Fijians know the other three teams in the group, Uruguay, Georgia and Wales, will take notice of this potential weakness.

National head coach John McKee says they have been working hard with the match-day 23 to rectify the weak areas.

“Our maul defence will need some good work ahead of the next games as I think all three teams that we come up against in our pool now are very strong in that area so that is going to be a big work on”

Fiji takes on Uruguay at 5.15pm tomorrow.
