One hundred and thirty-nine households of the Waidradra and Nadranu Settlements in Ba, now have access to piped drinking water.
Committee Chair, Joji Degei says the $189,000 Rural Water Project has brought relief to women and children in the two settlements.
Degei says prior to the implementation of the project, people had to fetch water from a nearby river or from a distant borehole.
For this project, the village water committee will receive $6,100 as payment for the village assistance provided.
The Water Authority says villagers will now enjoy consistent water supply that will withstand dry seasons.
WAF says it will continue to implement work that will ensure Fijians have access to safe drinking water and proper sanitation.
