Basketball Fiji Officials are doing their best to give players from the western schools a chance to vie for the national Under-19 team selection.

The Fijian juniors will be participating at the Oceania Championships in December in Suva.

Basketball Fiji Development Officer Valerie Nainima says players from the west have shown tremendous potential.

“We had to depend a lot on our development officer in the west… kelepi… to help us out with the west selection but right now what we’ve seen in the west was very encouraging… we hope that we could get the best from both sides… the east and the west for this Saturday.”

The final selection will be held at the Vodafone Arena this Saturday.
