Police and Customs officers have discovered drugs concealed in chocolate cookies.

The “cookies” were packed in boxes and sent from overseas to two local addresses.

It was intercepted in Suva on Sunday.

The Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority says the cookies tested positive for methamphetamine.

The amount of drugs discovered has an estimated street value of $350,000.

Two local residents are currently in police custody in relation to the case.

Officers have been keeping a close watch on the two suspects since April.

FRCA Chief Executive Officer Jitoko Tikolevu says the incident shows how creative criminals are becoming and it is worrying that locals are continuing to be involved in illicit drug smuggling cases.

Police investigations are ongoing.
