Scotland wary of Fiji

November 28, 2012 5:56 pm

The Digicel Fiji 7s team is being used as an example of what the shortened code is all about as pool opponents Scotland prepares for the Dubai tournament.

Scottish coach Phil Greening says they will not have it easy against the Fijians in pool play.

He was speaking at the launch of the Dubai 7s and says his brigade will have to step up against the likes of Fiji.

“Then we got the Fijians who have got more couple of more boys in and that makes them more solid, makes them more unified and more gritty as well. You saw that Kiwi-Fiji final at Gold Coast and it was immense and that is what sevens intensity is all about.”

Meanwhile, Alifereti Dere’s men face Spain in their opening pool encounter at 6.50pm tomorrow before taking on Scotland at 10.36pm.

The last pool match is against Kenya at 3.58am on Saturday.
