Two police officers, who allegedly took a bribe, appeared in the Nadi Magistrates Court today.

Hem Chand and Veresa Rabili are charged with receiving a bribe and aiding and abetting.

Chand’s lawyer Dorsami Naidu applied for the court to cancel the condition that his client report to a police station.

Naidu told court that Chand is now unemployed and has moved back to his family home in Tailevu.

Meanwhile, Rabili’s lawyers have asked for a hearing date to be fixed.

The case has been adjourned to November 26th.
