Fiji will soon have a Decree to help Disabled people lead a better life.

“We have noted that the most challenging area right now is that we have to create legislation that relates to disability. We have not done that since the existence of the Fiji National Council for Disabled People and its affiliates.”

Yanuyanutawa says the subsequent Decree will empower people with disabilities to demand the same rights, access and provisions also enjoyed by the able bodied.

The reviewing process is likely to be completed by the end of this year.
