PNG withdraws from Oceania 7s

Only four countries will be represented at the Oceania Rugby Super Sevens which starts on Friday.

This is after Papua New Guinea pulled out due to changes to flight schedules and visa complications.

As a result, the PNG sides were unable to travel on the dates required in order to arrive in time for the tournament.

Fiji will field two women’s teams while Fiji 7s Head Coach Ben Gollings has named a powerful squad which includes 2016 Rio Olympics gold medalist, Savenaca Rawaca.

The Fiji 7s side will meet Australia Selection in its first match at 11:24am on Friday.

Our Fijiana will start its campaign at 12:12pm against Black Ferns Ma on the same day.

The Fiji Men’s and Women’s teams are based at Kings College in Auckland.
