Strong winds are currently being experienced in the Central Division as TC Ana moves closer to Viti Levu.

The Fiji Meteorological Service says the category one system is slowly moving at 9km/hr and bring gale-force winds and heavy rain.

Acting Director Terry Atalifo says they expect TC Ana to remain as a category one system as it moves across the country.

Atalifo warns that the heavy rain brought by TC Ana can cause flooding of low lying areas, small streams and major rivers of Viti Levu.

As of 9pm yesterday, TC Ana was located about 30km west-northwest of Yasawa-i-Rara or about 130km north of Nadi.

The Weather Office will be providing a brief weather update soon.
