It is crucial for the Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police to have a “Veilomani Spirit” and work together during trying times.

This was highlighted by the Acting Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu while accepting his appointment as PICP Chair on behalf of the Fiji Police.

Tudravu says it’s crucial for Police Forces in the Pacific to work hand in hand in information sharing in an effort to help protect the region.

“Just as the seven founding Chiefs of PICP had a vision and a mission of uniting Pacific policing effort in a bid to enhance security within the Pacific region, so to must we unite and have a vision that can withstand the test of time and be relevant 50 years from now.”

Tudravu received the appointment from the outgoing Chair Samoan Police Commissioner Sonny Thompson.
