Hearing date yet to be set for woman facing drug charges

The hearing date for a clerical officer facing drug-related charges will be set next year.

Mereseini Ledua appeared yesterday before the Suva Magistrates court.

Ledua has been charged with one count of importing illicit drugs and one count of being in possession of illicit drugs namely Methamphetamine.

It is alleged that on July 12th in Suva Ledua illegally imported and had in her possession 101.4 grams of Methamphetamine.

She was arrested while picking up a parcel from the Suva Post Office which allegedly contained Methamphetamine.

The drugs valued at $115,000 were packed in a bottle of peanut butter. It was sent from America.

The case will be recalled on 24th February to fix hearing date.
