The Fijiana fifteens side will head into Friday’s Oceania Rugby Championship clash against Samoa with a lot of confidence.

Despite their 53 nil loss to the New Zealand Development side yesterday, Fijiana captain Sereima Leweniqila said they learnt the hard way.

Leweniqila says they will need to come back firing against Samoa on Friday at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

‘We know it was gonna be tough there were some debutantes this game was to gauge ourselves against a strong and formidable New Zealand side we are trying to work on our set-pieces defensive line just psyching up to the game on Friday which is the qualifying round’.

The Oceania tournament serves as a 2021 Women’s Rugby World Cup Qualifiers where the winner wins a direct qualification and the runners up a qualification spot in the repechage tournament.

The non-qualified teams in the Oceania Rugby Women’s Championship are Fiji, Samoa, Papua New Guinea and Tonga.
