Fifty-three Fijians from Tailevu and Naitasiri successfully underwent eye operations in Taveuni last week.

Tears of joy can only be seen on their faces after years of poor vision and for others an escape from complete darkness.

Fiji Society for the Blind Rehabilitation Coordinator Vilisi Salafabisi says the operations were carried out by Eye Specialists from Hawaii in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Taveuni.
