USP federal office celebrates 10th anniversary

The University of the South Pacific’s federal office today celebrated its 10th anniversary

Fourteen student representatives from around the region came together for a flag bearing ceremony at the Laucala campus in Suva to mark the occasion.

The Federal Council is the only legitimate body of students recognized by the University which is made up of 12 member countries and the elected student leaders from 14 student associations.

The University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Pal Ahluwalia says the University’s Student Associations reflect the regional character of the institution.

“This is a regional University and USPSA really reflects the regional character of our University and you know that’s very vital to us. I think there fundamental One Ocean One People, One Voice, One Journey just absolutely encapsulates what they stand for”.

He also emphasized the celebration of unity and diversity is what really drives USP forward.
