Inconsistent doctors are some of the main factors causing a delay in resolving compensation cases.

This was stated by Employment Ministry Permanent Secretary, Osea Cawaru while opening the Doctor’s Impairment Assessment Workshop in Lautoka today.

Cawaru says that under the Accident Compensation Commission of Fiji there is about 3,000 cases to clear for the next three to six years.

He adds this is where doctors’ competency plays a vital role in ensuring that cases are quickly and professionally assessed so that compensations are paid out as soon as possible.

However, the PS says the number of pending cases under the current system is due to some doctors being inconsistent by delaying assessments.
