1,897 clients were registered during the two days of the National Job Fair in Suva.

“The Talanoa session hosted by my ministry to review the outcome of the National job Fair has a clear direction on our plans for the future. The responses from all our stakeholders have indicated to have this as an annual event. The Talanoa session also highlighted the concerns raised by employers on their expectations on the new workers joining the workforce and also identify gaps between the training institution and what was expected from the employer.”

Kumar says a high number of female registration, indicated the increased number of females wanting to participate in the labour market.

He adds they are also working with training institutions to ensure they provide the best training to workers in the workplace to help enhance their service delivery.
