Don’t use the economy as a political football: AG

Economy Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has told Opposition Members not to use aspects of the Fijian economy as a political football.

Speaking during the debate on RBF’s report in Parliament yesterday, Sayed-Khaiyum says it is in our best interest to ensure that there is confidence in the economy.

He adds using the economy as a political tool will have a huge detrimental impact on the country.

“Because it has a direct implications on the level of investments, direct implications on investors’ confidence and direct implications on jobs”

Sayed-Khaiyum says Opposition MP’s should also stop personalizing matters and try and work together to build the economy.
